Paris—the City of Light and Love—is the enchanting capital of France, renowned for its iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre, as well as its global influence in fashion, art, and culture.

Nestled along the Seine River and divided into 20 distinct arrondissements, Paris is a vibrant center of history, creativity, business, and tourism, with roots dating back to its origins as a Gallo-Roman settlement.

The city enjoys a mild climate with rainfall throughout the year, offers excellent public transportation, and is home to roughly two million residents in the city proper, with an even larger population across its metropolitan area.

Some things to know before you go!

Climate & Temperature

In late March and early April, Paris experiences cool weather, with average high temperatures around 62°F and lows near 41°F. Both months can be unpredictable, and rain is common, so visitors should be prepared for changing conditions.

Attire

Smart casual is recommended throughout your stay. Layering is encouraged for comfort, and breathable fabrics are ideal for daytime activities. Because March and April can be rainy, we also recommend packing waterproof outerwear. Be sure to pack comfortable shoes for walking around the city.

The Gala Dinner will require smart attire. For men, a jacket (no tie) is suggested, and for women, a dress or stylish pants are appropriate.

Time

Paris switches to Daylight Savings Time (DST) on Sunday, March 29 at 2:00 AM, moving from Central European Time (CET, UTC+1) to Central European Summer Time (CEST, UTC+2). Just like in the U.S., you will “spring forward” one hour.

After the time change, Paris will be five hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time. 12:00 Noon EST is 5:00 PM CEST
